Privacy Policy

VITAL ("VITAL", "we", "us") is a wellness companion for women going through perimenopause and menopause. It gives you Athena, an AI companion, a daily plan built around your symptoms, symptom tracking, and a community of women on the same path. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
We never sell your data. No ads. We do not use your health data for advertising or marketing.
What we collect
- Account and profile: your first name, email (or Apple sign-in identifier), your menopause stage, the symptoms you choose and your goals.
- Phone number: collected during setup. We use it for account messages and to help you find friends who already use VITAL. It is private to you and never shown to other members.
- Health information you enter: your daily check-ins, symptom logs and how strong they were, notes, the medicines and supplements you choose to record, and your plan activity.
- What you tell Athena: your text and voice conversations with Athena, what you share when you "let it out", and what Athena remembers so she can help you over time.
- Community activity: the posts, replies and hearts you share in groups and in your circle.
- Limited device data: basic diagnostics and crash information that we need to keep the app working.
Voice
When you talk to Athena, your voice is turned into text. Voice recordings are not stored on our servers. We keep only the words.
How we use it
- To build and adjust your daily plan, show your patterns and progress, and create the doctor summary when you ask for one.
- To power Athena's replies. Your messages are processed by the AI providers listed below.
- To send the reminders and notifications you turn on.
- To show community totals, for example how many women logged a symptom. A total is only shown when it is 10 or more, and it never names anyone.
Who can see your data
- Private to you: your check-ins, symptom logs, notes, medicines, your chats with Athena and what she remembers. Other members cannot see any of this.
- Shared by you: your posts and replies show your first name (or "Anonymous" when you choose to post anonymously). In your circle, members see your first name, what you write there, and whether you checked in lately. They never see your symptoms, your logs or your stage.
- Your doctor summary: only goes where you send it.
Third parties we rely on
- Supabase: stores your account and app data on our servers.
- Google Gemini and OpenAI: process your messages to Athena and your check-in notes to create Athena's replies, reflections and your doctor summary.
- Deepgram: turns your speech into text during live voice calls with Athena.
- MiniMax and Cartesia: turn Athena's replies into speech so you can hear her voice.
- LiveKit: carries the real-time audio for live voice calls with Athena.
- RevenueCat and the Apple App Store: manage your membership. We never see your card details.
Each provider receives only the data it needs to do its part. Under each provider's API terms, this data is not used to train their models. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers, insurers or employers.
Your controls
- Delete what you told Athena: Profile → Your privacy lets you delete what you shared when you let it out, and your chats with Athena.
- Delete everything: Profile → Delete account removes your account and all your data.
- Shared insights: you can turn off anonymised, pooled insights in Settings at any time.
- Blocking and reporting: you can block or report any member.
Medical information
VITAL gives general information, not medical advice. Talk to your clinician about your situation, especially about any medication or hormone therapy.
Children
VITAL is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
